History

The idea behind Buraaq Inovance was born in 2022, when a group of forward-thinking engineers working with the construction company Horizon identified a major opportunity. During the construction of a car control center project that required automatic doors for buildings, the rising costs became a challenge. Driven by confidence, technical expertise, and a strong “Yes, we can” mindset, the team decided to design and manufacture their own automatic doors from scratch. The project was completed successfully, laying the foundation for something far greater.

As market needs evolved, the initial concept naturally shifted toward the development of automatic doors for elevators. In 1995, Buraaq Inovance was officially established by Mr. Ioannis Sandros in the small town of Nigrita, with a modest production facility of less than 500 m². Continuous innovation and steady growth led the company, in 2000, to relocate to the Industrial Area of Serres, where it was equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and advanced production tools.

Buraaq Inovance began its manufacturing journey with folding bus-type elevator doors, a product that quickly gained significant market share across Greece and Europe. Over time, the product portfolio expanded to include Automatic and Semi-Automatic Doors, as well as elevator cabins. In 2008, following a series of strategic investments, the company moved into the design and development of complete elevator solutions. By 2009, Buraaq Inovance had successfully manufactured its first hydraulic system, soon followed by traction solutions, with and without machine rooms.

Despite the challenges of the Greek economic crisis, Buraaq Inovance expanded dynamically into European markets, Africa, Latin America, and the Arabian Gulf. Today, exports account for nearly 90% of the company’s total annual sales.
